NCR carbonless copy papers

NCR self-copying papers or carbonless copy paper work on the basis of the reaction between the encapsulated dye and the kaolin layer. The capsule with dye are cracking under pressure and dye react with kaolin. Individually the papers CB, CF, CFB, SC, SC/CB are different by their functional properties.

What are NCR self-copying papers?

Depending on the kind of pressure-responsive layer, we call each paper CB (Coated Back), CF (Coated Front), SC (Self Copy), CFB or SC/CB. Individually the papers CB, CF, CFB, SC, SC/CB are different by their functional properties.

Self-copying papers CB, CFB, CF

The copy capabilities of CB and CF papers are dependent on each other. Upper paper CB has layer of microcapsule with dye on underneath. Second paper CF has kaolin layer on the top. This layers react in case of pressure.

The pressure occurs at the point where the paper is touched (by pen tip, by punch needles of printer, ...) the microcapsules of the CB layer are cracked and react with kaolin in CF layer. So a copy is produced on the paper. The reaction is not visible on the layer CB .

CFB paper is used when multiple copies are required. He has CF layer on top and CB layer on underneath. It also fulfils the function of CB paper and CF paper.

The capabilities of CB and CF are dependent on each other. If the CB or CF paper was combined with another paper, the copy would not be available.
